A SIMULTANEOUS CLEANUP WITHIN THE MIMAROPA REGION TO CELEBRATE WORLD WATER DAY 2024.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its PENRO Palawan, supports the EMB - PEMU in gathering  together 198 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Puerto Princesa estero in the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23.   Volunteers from the DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, PSU, NCCC Mall, City State Asturias Hotel, Jollibee Ospital ng Palawan, Chowking- Robinsons, Haim Chicken Irawan, Chowking DT Rizal, Capitol UMC, St. Matthew Episcopal Church, UCCP collected 62 sacks of wastes from the estero.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its CENRO Puerto Princesa  in Palawan, supports the EMB - PEMU in gathering together 60 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Tagburos River in the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23.   Volunteers from DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, local government units, Wilcon Depot, Jolibee, Delta Phi, Palawan DENR Employees Multi Coopeative, and Microtel collected 55 sacks of wastes from the river.

 The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its CENRO Brooke’s Point in Palawan supports the EMB - PEMU in gathering together 269 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Sitios Marabahay and Tagdalungon in Brgy. Rio Tuba, Bataraza, and Pulot River in Sofronio Espanola, in the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23.

Volunteers from DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, RITN, CBNC, barangay local government unit, MENRO, Purok Leaders, Pulot Center Women's Association, MDRRMO, BLGU Pulot Center, Pulot Center Lupon, PNP Española,  NGOs, BFP Española, CMDC - Pulot Nickel Mining Project collected 174 sacks of wastes from the areas.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its PENRO Romblon supports the EMB - PEMU in gathering  together 251 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Bongoy-Bangon River in the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23.   Volunteers from the DENR and EMB in MIMAROPAAA, LGU Odiongan, BLGUs of Tabindagat, Liwanag, Tulay, Budiong and Bangon, Romblon State University, KADBAYAN collected 66 sacks of wastes from the river.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its PENRO Marinduque, supports the EMB - PEMU in gathering together 100 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean riverbanks along Brgys. Nangka II and Balanacan in Mogpog in the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23.  Volunteers from the DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, PCG Maritime, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and residents collected 51 sacks of wastes from the riverbanks.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its CENRO Roxas in Oriental Mindoro gathered together 29 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Batangan River in support of the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23.  Volunteers from the DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, local government units and the community collected 14 sacks of wastes from the river.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its CENRO San Jose in Occidental Mindoro supports the EMB - PEMU in gathering together 170 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Pandurucan River in the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23. 

Volunteers from the public, private and business sectors, the academe, and NGOs converged and collected 70 sacks of wastes from the river. Present in the cleanup drive were officials and employees from DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, and representatives from MLGU, BLGU Poblacion 3, 4 San Roque MLGU - MDRRMO, MENRO, Municipal Tourism, MSWD,  ARESCOM,  AFP, PNP, PH Coast Guard, Philippine Army, PAGASA GRAIN CENTER, INC, OMECO, Jollibee, Petron Gasoline Station,  Rhoda’s Gasoline Station, Hap Seng Suki Mart, F10 Maps 2000/ FilOil, AM Maravilla, VS Management Consultancy, OMCPC, Mindoro Five Star Rice Mill, Divine Word College SJOM, Occidental Mindoro State College, Caminawit Ice plant Inc., AM Rice Mill, Millanes Security Agency, ASA Philippines Foundation Inc., Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its PENRO and CENRO Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro, and in partnership with EMB - PEMU, gathered together 420 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Sabang River in the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23. 

Volunteers from the public, private and business sectors, the academe, and NGOs converged and collected 182 sacks of wastes from the river. Present in the cleanup drive were officials and employees from DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, Apo Reef Natural Park, and representatives from PNP Maritime, BFP, PCG, PUP - Sablayan, OMSC - Sablayan,  Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity, Sablayan Water District, SK, Brgys Poblacion,, Sto Nino, and Buenavista, Bureau of Corrections, Jollibee, BJMP, recipients of 4Ps, RMFB, local MDRRMC and MENRO, and Sablayan Water District.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – MIMAROPA, through its CENRO Roxas in Palawan  gathered together 30 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean Umalad River in support of the agency’s simultaneous cleanup activity to commemorate World Water Day, March 23. 

Volunteers from the DENR and EMB in MIMAROPA, and local government units converged and collected a total of 30 sacks of wastes from the river.

Happy World Water Day everyone!

In celebration of the International Day of the Forests, the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro conducted a magrove planting activity on March 21, 2024 in Sitio Bating, Barangay Milagrosa, Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro. 

Five hundred (500) propagules of species Bakauan-lalaki (Rhizophora apiculata Blume) and Bakauan-babae (Rhizophora mucronata Lam) were planted in 0.25 hectare area by participants from the Philippine National police (PNP), Barangay Officials, DepEd, Bating Farmers Fisherfolks Association, Alimango Farmers Fisherfolks Association, and CENRO Roxas personnel.

 

In celebration of International Day of Forest, PENRO Marinduque conducted Mangrove Tree Planting in Brgy. Laon, Mogpog, Marinduque on March 21, 2024. 

One hundred (100) Nipa species were planted by participants from Marinduque’s Bureau of Fire Protection, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices and Residents of Laon Mogpog, Marinduque.

The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro in partnership with with the local government unit of Calintaan conducted mangrove propagules collection, planting, clean up drive, mangrove area maintenance and protection at So. Wawa , Iriron, and So. Marsumbol, Barangay New Dagupan, in Calintaan Occidental Mindoro. 

Participants include personnel from CENRO San Jose, and interns from Occidental Mindoro State College, and personnel from Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office  of Calintaan headed by MENR Officer Delmer Garingalo.

The members of the El Nido Interagency Committee convened on March 19, 2024, its 3rd meeting to discuss joint efforts to sustain the ecological integrity of the island paradise.
The meeting, which was held at the DENR MIMAROPA Regional Office at the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange was presided by Regional Executive Director (RED) Felix Mirasol Jr., and was attended by officials from different agencies in the region, namely, Regional Director (RD) Joe Amil Salino (EMB), Jamella De Castro (ERDB), Engr. Alvin Requimin and Jam Galang (MGB); Director Socrates Gaerlan (Office of the Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science), Taytay CENRO Conrad Corpus and ENMRPA Protected Area Superintendent Mildred Suza (via Zoom); RD Roberto Alabado III (DOT), Rommel Lizan, MD (DOH), Port Manager Elizalde Ulson (PPA), Engr. John Yil Ynzon (Provincial Government of Palawan/El Nido Sewage and Solid Waste Treatment Plant), For. Apollo Regalo (PCSD).
 
El Nido Mayor Edna Gacot Lim was also present along with other officials of the local government unit. Mae Chatto of Oceana joined the meeting and shared the campaign against single-use plastics. Representatives from the DPWH and DILG were also in attendance.

Centered around the theme "Wetlands and Human Wellbeing," DENR MIMAROPA organized environmental lectures, mangrove tree planting activities, and the introduction of youth ambassadors in partnership with the local government unit of Puerto Galera - Municipal Environment And Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Puerto Galera National High School, And Stairway Foundation.


The information Officers' Summit aimed to convene denr mimaropa Information Officers across the region to collaboratively design the 2024 communication plan and develop the 2025 budget proposal. This gathering also provided an opportunity to orient newly designated and existing information officers with communication standards within the organization, aligning them with the directives from the Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (SCIS). To ensure a more strategic, impactful, and well-managed approach for 2024 and 2025.

Through a guided sea educational immersion and interactive experiences with nature initiated by the LGU Puerto Galera – MENRO and Stairway Foundation, the Information Officers gained new perspectives on best practices in the conservation of the municipality’s coastal and marine ecosystems.

The DENR MIMAROPA, in partnership with Puerto Galera National High School, launched the Environmental Youth Ambassadors program to empower students to lead environmental advocacy and initiatives within their school and community. Five students were appointed to lead their school in conducting various environmental advocacies and initiatives, serving as role models for their peers, namely Rhein Grace C. Magbuhos, Yesha C. Garcia, Nikka Jane P. Pamor, Phenelope A. Garcia, and Dexter Jethro C. Enriquez. These students demonstrated a deep commitment to environmental conservation and showed leadership potential.
