Regional Tayo ang Kalikasan focal persons and Information officers discussed existing environmental problems during the Environmental Awareness and Solid Waste Management lecture at Brgy. Salvacion, Rizal Occidental Mindoro
The Tayo Ang Kalikasan focals of DENR MIMAROPA conducted a lecture on solid waste management in a fishing community in Salvacion Rizal, Occidental Mindoro on November 25, 2021 as part of the celebration of the Environmental Awareness Month.
Information Officer and TAK principal focal person, Ms. Janice Belen discussed Environmental Awareness and DENR Programs. She shared relatable and attainable ways of taking care of the environment through partnership with the community's activities. Also, encouraged the community to work together towards the sustainability of our future and conserve the environment's natural resources.
On the other hand, Mr. Izzah Loren Fernandez, TAK alternate focal and the Information Officers of Occidental Mindoro, Ms. Krizia Aina Viray and Shyla Alah Abutan discussed Solid Waste Management Programs, facts and figures on how much waste the community contributes in the destruction of our natural resources.
An interactive activity and an open discussion were conducted by the Information Officers of Occidental Mindoro and participated by the community leaders and learners who attended and shared their current environmental endeavors and possible projects.
“Ang ating hindi pangangalaga sa kabundukan, sa kalikasan ay nararanasan na natin ngayon, kamakailan may mga basurang bumaha imbis na tubig ang rumagasa sa kapatagan. Wala ng humahawak at nagpprotekta sa kabundukan kaya kailangan mas paigtingin natin ang pagprotekta sa mga natitira pa nating likas-yaman. Tayo bilang mga mamamayan na malapit sa kapaligiran at nakikinabang sa kalikasan ay tayo mismo ang nararapat maging mas maalam at mas nakatutok sa pagprotekta ng kalikasan laban sa mga balak sumira dito,” stated by ABC President Kapitan Reden.###
