In celebration of the 2024 Women's Month with the theme " We for Gender Equality, Inclusive and Resilient Society", a Mangrove Tree Planting and Coastal cleanup activity in Tanza Marine Tree Park in Navotas City was conducted by the DENR MIMAROPA on March 26, 2024. It seeks to narrow the gender gap in implementing DENR programs and projects as well as a call to action on building climate resilient communities in response to the threat posed by climate change.
 
The said activity was conducted in collaboration with DENR NCR together with their bantay bakawan. As part of the program, a brief IEC lecture on the proper planting of mangroves was delivered to ensure its high survival rate. It was participated by 21 female and 14 male personnel of DENR MIMAROPA Regional Office.
 
A total 60 pcs of Avicennia officinalis (api-api) were planted within the mangrove forest while a total of 17 sacks of trash were collected at the end of the activity.
