GAD is a development perspective that recognizes the unequal status and situations of women and men in society.

Legal Mandates for GAD

1987 Philippine Constitution- Article II, Sec. 14 provides that the State recognizes the role of women in nation-building, and shall ensure that fundamental equality before the law of women and men.

Republic Act 7192. Women in Development and Nation-Building Institutionalizing gender concerns in national development efforts adopting the GAD approach in policies and programs.

R.A 7192, directs all government agencies to institute measure that would eliminate gender bias in government policies, programs and project, to ensure that women are given the means to paeticipate fully in development and nation building.

Recognizing DENR-MIMAROPA partners who have made a dent in promoting/championing GAD/women empowerment, and women who have made various contribution in the society in climate change response and disaster risk reduction and mitigation particularly during this pandemic.  Submission of nominations by the field offices is on or before 10 March 2022.
 
Nominees will be uploaded on the DENR-MIMAROPA website and social media accounts.

 


 

2.  BELIEVE IN YOUR SELFie

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the DENR MIMAROPA is launching the BELIEVE IN YOUR SELFie Wall where individuals can share their insights and show support to women empowerment and gender-related issues.

Mechanics

A. Eligibility

                        General Public

(using the 1515 L and S Bldg.,  Roxas Blvd., Ermita, Manila ) and  DENR MIMAROPA Regional Office employees

 B. Entry requirements

          1. Take a selfie at the DENR MIMAROPA ‘BELIEVE IN YOUR SELFie’ Wall on the office’s ground floor from March 8 to 25, 2022.
          2. Please post it on Facebook with a creative caption and use the hashtag #DENRMIMAROPAWMC2022.
          3. Don’t forget to tag the official page and account of DENR MIMAROPA on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/DENRMIMAROPAOfficial) and Instagram (@denrmimaropa)
          4. By submitting an entry, the contestants grant DENR MIMAROPA the right and license to upload, modify, improve, and reproduce the submitted materials in any manner for the agencies' information, education, and communication activities.  

 C. Contest Rules

          1. Each participant/employee is required to like the (DENR MIMAROPA Facebook Page and Instagram Account)
          2. Only one entry per participant shall be accepted.

 3.  JUANA TIKTOK CHALLENGE

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the DENR MIMAROPA is launching the JUANA TIKTOK to raise awareness and encourage the public to participate and promote the Gender and Development campaigns.

   

Mechanics

A. Eligibility

          1. The contest is open to all Filipinos. There is no age bar for participating in the contest.

          2. There will be two categories:

- For the general public

- For the DENR MIMAROPA Employees (including field offices)

          1. Participants may join as solo, duo, or group. * For group entries, please make sure to observe physical distancing and other health-related safety protocols throughout the video

          2. Participant/s must have Tax Identification Number (TIN).

B. Entry requirements (applies to both categories) 

          1. Using the participant’s account, make and post a TikTok Video that discusses and inform any gender and development topics and concern from March 7 to March 28, 2022.

          2. Follow our TikTok account @denrmimaropa, post your video on Tiktok using the hashtag #DENRMIMAROPAWMC2022 and tag us. Make sure your video entry is set to “Public.”

          3. Please send us a private message (https://www.facebook.com/DENRMIMAROPAOfficial) containing the link to your Tiktok entry and a copy of your TIN.

          4. DENR MIMAROPA will acknowledge if your entry has been accepted.

          5. By submitting an entry, the contestants grant DENR MIMAROPA the right and license to upload, modify, improve, and reproduce the submitted materials in any manner for the agencies' information, education, and communication activities.  

C. Contest Rules (applies to both categories)

      1. Each participant/s is required to like the (DENR MIMAROPA Facebook Page).
      2. Only one entry per participant shall be accepted. 
      3. The entry must not exceed two (2) minutes. 
      4. Contestants may use any content (Dance, Storytime, Short Skit, etc.)
      5. Lewd/obscene costume and dance steps, content is not allowed.
