In celebration of this year’s Tamaraw month, the DENR MIMAROPA, through the Tamaraw Conservation Project (TCP) and the Provincial Governments of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, in cooperation with partner organizations has conducted various activities to continuously raise awareness on protecting the country’s largest endemic mammal.

With this year’s theme “Tamaraw Atin Ito, Ipagmalaki Mo Bilang Pilipino”, the DENR MIMAROPA together with the DENR-Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB), conducted the "Tamaraw Talks" webinar to highlight the conservation and protection efforts and activities implemented by the agency through the TCP.

PENRO Oriental Mindoro also initiated series of Virtual Lecture targeting the youth as participants; radio guesting and distributed IEC materials such as leaflets, brochures and tote bag with “Protect Wildlife” statement.

While PENRO Occidental Mindoro held various activities such as Launching of painting contest and Tamaraw Dance (“Love ko Tamaraw” Song) and  Intensive Campaign thru Song & Dance: Tam Go Viral  TikTok Challenge Love Ko Tamaraw Dance. The celebration of the National Tamaraw Month is under Presidential Proclamation No. 273, series of 2002, which declares the month of October of every year as a Special Month for the Conservation and Protection of the Tamaraw in Mindoro.###
