In expressing support to the celebration of Month of the Ocean 2021 with the theme “The Science we NEED, for the Ocean we WANT”, DENR CENRO Sablayan conducted a kick-off thru a motorcade activity held on May 10, 2021. The motorcade was headed by the assistance of PNP, a vehicle carrying a mascot of Napoleon Wrasse and a sound speaker and followed by a trail of DENR employees’ motorcycle. The route of activity was from CENR Office up to town proper, Brgy. Poblacion and vice versa. It was participated by thirty (30) employees of CENRO Sablayan.

CENRO Sablayan likewise spearheaded a coastal clean-up activity on May 21, 2021. To avoid mass gathering and to ensure safety protocols, the participants were divided and grouped. The coastal clean-up was participated by 268 participants composed of the Local Government Unit, Brgy. Officials, different agencies and concerned stakeholders united to work as one in cleaning the coastal areas of the Municipality of Sablayan. One hundred twelve (112) sacks of debris were collected during clean-up and such wastes were disposed to Sablayan dumpsite situated at Sablayan Eco-Park

On May 26, 2021, an Information Education Communication (IEC) activity was conducted at Brgy. Claudio Salgado, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro wherein a comprehensive presentation regarding Biodiversity and Marine turtle Conservation and Biology was tackled to further increase client’s awareness about the rules, regulations, policies and other environmental concerns that the agency is implementing. The activity was attended by 21 participants.###
