On May 27, 2021, the Tayo ang Kalikasan (TAK) Focal Persons from the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG) conducted virtual orientation and lecture to ensure the implementation of the roles and responsibilities of the Tayo ang Kalikasan ENR Ambassadors of CENRO Taytay, Palawan.

The lecture tackles how the Tayo Ang Kalikasan was formed through collaborative efforts by the government and the citizens having shared responsibilities in conserving, maintaining and protecting the environment. The ENR Tayo ang Kalikasan Ambassador Project aims to involve students in the conservation and protection of the environment through Information, Education and Communication (IEC), advocacy and social mobilization.

The ENR TAK Ambassadors from Palawan State University – Taytay Campus shared the activities they have conducted since they have presumed their roles as environmental advocates. Some of the activities conducted were mountain clean up at Little Tagaytay, Sitio Mamaquen, Bgy. Poblacion, Taytay, Palawan with the support of Sta. Monica Parish Kids Ministry wherein ten (10) kilos of trash were collected. Training workshop in partnership with LGU Taytay, Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. and Municipal Environment Natural Resource Office (MENRO) Taytay. They also conducted tree planting wherein fifty (50) Indigenous Forest tree species were planted in watershed area in Municipal Campsite.

Designated Information Officer of CENRO Taytay, Rodel M. Dorado headed the formulation of Constitution and By-laws and the election of officers.

The lecture was participated by OIC-Chief RSCIG Consuelo Matundan, CENRO Alan Valle, designated Information Officer Rodel M. Dorado, faculty members of Palawan State University – Taytay Campus and Sangguniang Kabataan of different municipalities of Taytay, Palawan. ###
