The FGD, which was participated by the Peoples’ Organization (PO) and Barangay Officials of Sagrada and San Jose, and the members and workers of Bambuhay Handicrafts, has the objective to educate and inform the participants regarding existing laws and procedures governing the formation of Community Based Forest Management Program (CBFMP) in their respective Barangays.

During the FGD, Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) Desk Officer, Forester Mark Glen Managdag discussed the identification of CBFMP areas, the criteria for site selection requirements in the application of CBFM Agreement, and the planning and implementation stage of CBFMP. Important provisions of Executive Order No. 263, which establishes CBFM as the national strategy to achieve or ensure sustainable development of the country’s Forest Lands Resources, have also been discussed and questions relating to the CBFM Program have also been answered.

In Coron, Palawan there are four areas covered by the CBFM Agreement, these are located in Barangay San Nicolas, Guadalupe, Brgy. 6, and Barangay Borac, managed and administered by Coron Watershed Beneficiaries Association – Agro Forestry Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
