PENRO Palawan shows its love to Mother Nature in
14th Love Affair with Nature

The City in the Forest, Puerto Princesa, celebrated Valentine’s Day through a Love Affair with Nature, an annual event of mangrove planting and reforestation organized by the Local Government of Puerto Princesa as their expression of love for Mother Earth.
It was started by former city Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn with the aim to promote awareness on the protection of the environment and to fight the rapidly changing condition of the earth.
An early program was held to welcome the different organizations and institutions within the City of Puerto Princesa, including the DENR PENROs and CENROs.
There was the planting of around 30,000 mangrove propagules on 2.42 hectares planting site. The event was participated byLocal Government Units, People’s Organizations, Non-Government Organizations, schools, private sectors, and the local community.
Hon. Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron administered a Mass Wedding for 102 couples. He also presented the official candidates of Ms. Puerto Princesa 2016.
