Proud to say that among the regions of the country, MIMAROPA very well represents the Philippine Archipelago not only in the numerous counts of Islands but, more in the diversity of resources. This region covers a total land area of 2.74 million hectares or 9.15 percent of the Philippine 30 million hectares making it the biggest region in the country. The region's forest are a habitat of various rare and endangered species of flora and fauna such as Tamaraw, Bleeding Heart, Irriwady Dolphins, Jade Vine and many others.
The Region has ten (10) priority watershed areas covering 207,634 hectares supporting National Irrigation System (NIS) and maintains seventeen (17) protected areas, most number of protected areas among the regions in the country. Some of which are now considered world heritage sites by UNESCO, (The Tubbataha Reefs National Marine Park and the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, both in Palawan and the latest in Naujan Lake National Park in Oriental Mindoro). Aside from that, MIMAROPA have the biggest Coastal Province (Palawan) the country. To say the least, MIMAROPA the most endowed region, because it does not only boast of pristine bodies of water and beautiful forest but also rich mineral resources as well, such as Gold, Copper, Nickel, Iron, Marble and Silica.
In the modern world as of today, ICT (Information Communication Technology) underscored the importance of web (social networking) for a fast and timely way, complementing information from traditional media like radio and television. People were able to get updates on the agency's mandate and functions, latest development of programs and projects as well as current budget and financial standing thru its transparency seals.
