PENRO Oriental Mindoro conducts Environmental Rules and
Regulations Lecture for Eco-Rangers of Naujan Lake National Park
As part of uplifting the awareness of the public regarding Naujan Lake National Park and the existing environmental laws and policies, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – PENRO and CENRO Socorro, in partnership with B+WISER and Haribon Foundation conducted one-day training with Eco-Rangers of Naujan Lake National Park.
The activity aims to orient the eco-rangers and uplift their awareness regarding Naujan Lake National Park and the rules and regulations governing within the Park.
Participants were local media men, students and teachers from St. Anthony College of Calapan, Divine World College of Calapan, and Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology – Main Campus in Victoria.
Ms. Cza of Haribon facilitated the flow of the program while Ms. Raiza, also from Haribon, discussed about Biodiversity and Climate Change.
Forester Amor D. Asi, PENRO Information, Education and Communication Officer discussed the Environment and Natural Resources Rules and Regulations governing with the Park and presented one of the Aquino Administration priority thrusts, the National Greening Program as a government response to climate change mitigation and adaptation and Biodiversity Conservation.
Open forum followed after the presentations. Oriental Mindoro’s Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Mary June F. Maypa answered all the queries of the participants.
The activity ended by post-test conducted by Haribon Foundation to evaluate the learnings of the participants regarding Biodiversity, Climate Change and Environmental Laws. (Adrian V.Catud)
