HRDS accomplishes four in-house trainings for the
1st Quarter

The Human Resource Development Section (HRDS) of the Administrative Division under Management Service of DENR MIMAROPA fulfilled its mandate to provide everyone in the organization the opportunities to learn new skills and advance his/her capabilities and knowledge.

For the 1st quarter of CY 2016, the HRDS successfully conducted four (4) in-house trainings, as follows: i) Orientation Program on Basic Employee Rights, Privileges and Benefits for the New Entrants ii) Training-Workshop on Forest Land Use Planning (FLUP) iii) Training-Workshop on Technical Writing iv) Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Management Training-Workshop.

Pursuant to the full implementation of the Rationalization Plan, the initial offering of HRDS for CY 2016 was the “Orientation Programon Basic Employee Rights, Privileges and Benefits for New Entrants.” The first part of orientation focused on the DENR Mission, Vision, Thrusts, Organizational Structure, Core functions, and Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS), which was carried out at the last quarter of CY 2015. For the second part of the orientation, the topics discussed were the Membership and Benefits from Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), PhilHealth, Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), and Leave Benefits based on Civil Service Commission (CSC) rules and regulations. The first conduct of the event was participated by the newly appointed personnel of the Regional Office last January 20-22, 2016. The second conduct was participated by newly appointed personnel in Marinduque last February 18-19, 2016. The conduct of orientation for new employees shall also be carried out in the remaining provinces namely, Romblon, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, and Palawan.

Meanwhile, the Training-Workshop on FLUP was carried out in two (2) batches, participated by the Chief, Technical Services Division of each PENRO, FLUP Focal persons from PENROs and CENROs, and some representatives from the Conservation and Development Division, headed by CDD Chief Consuelo M. Matundan. The first batch was conducted at the Conference Hall of PENRO, Palawan last February 10-12, 2016 while the 2nd batch, which was composed of participants from Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, Romblon, Coron, Palawan, and Regional Office, was conducted last February 22-24, 2016 at theBayview Park Hotel, Manila. The Resource Person was Forester Buenaventura L. Dolom, who is also known as the “father of FLUP.”

The team also conducted a training-workshop on Technical Writing to improve the department’s office communications which is an important factor in the organization’s image, self-respect, and concern for quality. This event was conducted last March 2-3, 2016 at the Conference Room of DENR 4-MIMAROPA Regional Office. It was participated by the Section Chiefs of Management and Technical Divisions and their action officers. The Resource Person was Dr. Madeline B. Quiamco, Dean of Graduate School of Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication.

By the end of the first quarter, the “Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Management Training-Workshop,” was also conducted on March 7-11, 2016 at the Bayview Park Hotel, Manila. It was participated by the head and staff of ICT Unit, staff from Procurement Section, Property Custodians, and representatives from the Regional Office, Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, Romblon, and Coron, Palawan. The Training-Workshop focused on basic networking and troubleshooting, and on ICT property inventory. This event shall also be carried out in Palawan.
