A total of five (5) schools – 3 elementary schools and 2 secondary schools – were visited by the team, namely: Sicsican National High School, San Jose National High School, Gregorio Oquendo Memorial School, Tiniguiban Elementary School, and Mauricio Elementary School. It was noticed that most of the schools monitored have already followed the guidelines on YES-O while those who have not yet complied were advised to do so. Some schools have good documentation of the YES-O activities throughout the school year that were recorded on their scrap books such as gulay sa eskwelahan, clean-up drives, tree planning activities, recycling, etc.

The DENR MIMAROPA Youth Desk Officers will conduct the same YES-O monitoring in other provinces under the region with the hope that through the monitoring efforts it will not only strengthen youth awareness on environmental concerns but engaged them in mitigation and adaptation efforts and activities to offset various environmental concerns.
